Day 7: Matteo A

Today was a mix of emotions a little bittersweet but still productive. My main goal for the day was to start the woodwork for my David statue and Italy diorama project, but unfortunately, I didn’t get to it. That left me feeling a bit disappointed because I was really looking forward to making progress in that area. I had envisioned getting the first steps of the woodwork done and seeing the projects take on their final forms, but sometimes things just don’t go as planned.

On the bright side, I did manage to finish my Italy diorama, at least everything except the wood elements. That was a big win for me, and I felt really proud seeing how detailed and cohesive it turned out. The diorama looks vibrant and captures the spirit of Italy that I wanted to convey. Even without the wood components, it feels complete in its own way, and I can’t wait to see how much better it will look once everything comes together.

Although not reaching my goal of starting the woodwork left me feeling a bit down, I’m reminding myself that progress is still progress. Finishing the diorama was a big step forward, and it gives me a strong foundation to build on. Tomorrow is a new day, and I’m determined to dive into the woodwork and bring both projects closer to completion.

Even when things don’t go perfectly, I’ve learned that it’s important to focus on what I did accomplish and take pride in those moments. Reflecting on the day, I feel grateful for the progress I made and motivated to tackle the next steps with fresh energy.

What went well:

I finished the Italy diorama, except for the woodwork, and made good progress refining the overall look of my projects.

What did not go as well:

I couldn’t start the woodwork as planned, which was my main goal for the day.

Something I’m proud of:

Completing the Italy diorama to a near-finished state, with everything but the wood elements

Goal for tomorrow:

Finish everything
