This was my favorite day so far! I finished all of my layers for my shadow box and even got to see some designs come to life. Throughout the day I was working hard on finishing up my design before lunch so that after lunch I could do some touch-ups if needed. I spent most of my morning block making sure that my design did not cover any other aspects of my design. Once I was sure that nothing was completely covering anything I switched my attention over to make sure that light could get through my design, to do this I made open rectangles in the bottom of the paper so that when the light would pass through it would appear more realistic.
Today my favorite activity was helping my peers figure out how to use the laser cutter, since I have already had practice it was simple for me, but helping to teach them in conjunction with Mr. Grisbee felt rewarding. On the contrary the hardest part of my day today was attempting to understand how important borders are when it comes to stabilization. I did not understand how or why I needed to add a border until my friend helped explain it to me and showed me how to properly complete that portion of the assignment.
I am very proud of myself today because I have completed the goals I had before today, and on top of that, I had set a personal goal of my own for today which I also accomplished. Tomorrow our little group is going on a very exciting outing to Texas Art Supply which means I will have to select very specific colors of paper that will mix well with their supporting papers. My goal for tomorrow is to get as much work as I can, specifically getting my diorama design finished.
