Today was such a great and productive day. I’m really proud of everything I accomplished! The biggest highlight was completing the full test for my David statue shadow box, including all the foam layers. Adding those foam layers was incredibly time-consuming, but it was absolutely worth it. The transformation from a flat, 2D-ish design to a fully dimensional 3D piece was incredible to see. The layers gave so much depth and brought the whole project to life in such a satisfying way.
Watching the design evolve into something closer to the final product was amazing. Every foam layer added a new level of complexity and detail, and seeing them all come together was so rewarding, especially with the light in the background. I’m thrilled with how the test turned out, and it’s exciting to know that the final version is going to look even better. Getting to this point took a lot of effort and focus, but I couldn’t be happier with the results!
On top of making so much progress on my own project, I also had the chance to help some of my peers with their work. It felt great to share what I’ve learned and guide them through some of the steps such as cutting the foam and some more of the red line stuff. I took the time to explain things clearly and made sure they felt confident about what they were doing. Being able to support others while still accomplishing so much myself made the day feel even more meaningful.
Overall, today was a mix of hard work, patience, and rewarding results. Completing the full test for my David statue shadow box, especially seeing it go from a 2Dish design to a 3D piece, was such a proud moment. Helping others along the way made the day even better, and I feel motivated to keep going and finish the project!
what went well:
turned the David shadow box "more" 3D
helping my peers
what did not go as well:
had to re-print a lot because sometimes put the foam on the wrong side
something I'm proud of:
turning the David shadow box "more" 3D
goal for tomorrow:
assemble the final shadow box
